Aliens and stuff – lineart post

Time for some moar art!

First up is an alternate universe Yewon, hanging out with some snails. (He possibly thinks they’re related.)

Then we have Donni (Katie Williamsons character!) and Shay, playing a game of pacman tag. Happy Bday pacman! you’re 30 now!

Next is “Siel”. A character designed off the race called Kaumin, created by Katie Williamson. I love her alien designs, so I asked if I could possibly make one with her help, and she agreed! So here’s what I came up with. I don’t feel comfortable putting her elsewhere online, so here art of here stays. I kinda like to think of Siel as like, an Alien Zeia or something. Petite,  a little mysterious, but a bit more confident then Zeia is by far. Also bustier, haha.

Last up is Neo herself. Shortly after seeing How To Train Your Dragon, I wanted to go back and toy with her dragon-riding incarnation from when I was 15-16. That movie kind of envisioned everything I used to dream about as a kid, so it was fun to give Neo her own flying dinosaur. He looks like a dope, I think I’ll keep him around. Maybe I’ll finish this one someday!

Art poop

Kinda havent updated since before Sakura-Con, so here’s some stuff I’ve done lately: First up is some Unigans (A race by Onta) Yewon, Shay and some egg loving girly one with no name.

Then we have a small logo for bluebowspace, I was commissioned to do.

Then inks to this image http://neolucky.deviantart.com/art/Dynamic-Symmetry-161998441 , which features my character Shay and Katie-W’s alien, named Donni.

Lastly an alternate-universe Yewon

That should be everything to bring everyone up to date. Sakura-con was pretty fun, made about half as much as the year before, but we had a crapload more artists this year, which I gladly don’t mind giving up profit for. It’s just nice to have some variety there. Met up with some friends, hung out and had good times. Now back to work, phew!

Doodles, Eccc, next Sakuracon!

So, Eccc was fantastic-o. Went and got my copy of Outer Orbit signed by Zack Howard (Sadly Sean Murphy didnt make it!) and sold a bit. Was kind of a neat, refreshing con. Anyhoot, some art for now. Also Sakura-Con in a week, ughhh so not ready.

Con junk, books and birthday

So, I’m 27 now *flex* it’s pretty much everything I ever dreamed it would be.  Or maybe not, but hey, it’s kinda cool to think about.

Check out this sweet awesome b-day gift I got from Katie-W !!! @u@

Anyways, I am almost ready for the two upcoming cons (Emerald City, and Sakura), and I’ll have quite a list of pretties and some new things and new art. Probably a lot of really cheap original art to get rid of as well. I also recently finished compiling an artbook (2009 sketchbook) and might possibly have a few copies for the cons, I certainly hope I will at least. It was a fiasco just trying to get in touch with Lulu’s shoddy customer service, arhg.

So I’ll have a copy of Dragonfest volumes 1,2 and 3, 2008 and 2009 sketchbooks, and a slew of prints, danglies, keychains, bookmarks, small prints, buttons, and whatever the hell else I can get my hands on to craft ho ho ho ho.

I also recently bought myself a set of neon green Moleskine books, and I can say I really love the paper quality and texture. One is for adult concepts, the other is for day to day doodles. That way I know which one to be using in public hahah. People tend to wanna look over my shoulder when I’m drawing, and the last thing I want them seeing is some of my erotica or body studies right off the bat. I have yet to try marker on them, I’m a little worried it’d ruin the paper, as it’s kinda thin.

Been incredibly busy lately, with work from three clients (comic related, and pinup related) as well as convention preparations. Pulling a lot of late nights and caffeinated work-mode lately.

Also, I realize the comment section is kinda hard to find on this blog, but it’s there if you find it necessary to say anything.

Binary Love

A quick art dump for now. First, here’s a song –> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBfQmGvWjec I’ve been pretty much digging everything by this Blake Lewis person lately, specifically Binary Love, in which I find it pretty much sums up my character ‘Shay’ in one neat, shiny awesome nerdy package. Lyrics and all, this song has a similar voice to how I imagine the character, as well as general feel for his perosnality and music. (He’s not as sexy, however.) So here’s some Shay.

And now some other things. Such as a super hero, a sheep girl, and alternate universe Yewon.

Con update cross-post

Alright, so, I’ll be hitting the following upcomming cons with my pal, Katie Williamson! :

Emerald City Comic Con – March 13th & 14th (located at L-14!)
Sakura Con – April 2nd to 4th (Unsure of layout)

I’ll probably post more about what will be available at both when I know for sure. I’m hoping to have my new sketchbook there as well as a few other book items, prints and whatever else (buttons, bookmarks, keychains, and stuff) so stay tuned!

Also, if you have any ideas of things you like to see, feel free to mention them here or over at Katie’s journal!

Some drawrings.

Hi, been a while, have a few things.

Chibi and Shay

Just a couple linearts for now. First one is a chibi, done for Centch over on FA, of a character named Nestly, the finished one is here. It’s meant to accompany this badge done by Patchwerk.

Annnd next up is Shay. Who I’ve been doodling a lot lately. I listened to a lot of swing while drawing this.

Yewon Yewon and more Yewon + Nudity

This post may not be very work safe, just a warning.

I tend to draw Yewon often. She/he has become my central muse and more aligned with my interests then any previous characters or designs. I invest a lot of thought and time and practice in their design, so here’s what I’ve been doodling lately. First up is Yewon in a tank. I haven’t really hashed out what the ‘Plants’ look like in their natural tank habitats, and this image is meant to be of her upside down but I figured I’d toss it right side up just for weird effect.

Then a very weird jungley Yewon. I was in some weird groove and much looser. I wish all my sketches kinda came out like this, really. The anatomy is a little funky though.

Lastly is a sketch vs inks comparison. I like my sketches much better then my inks, I always have. I feel like my true ideas and expressions comes out through them, I just with my inks translated better.  Practice more I suppose.

Dream-doodle: Dreadlocks.

Dunno really. Just kinda tried to draw something from a dream.
